Established in Liverpool in 1990, Plexus grew to become one of the largest suppliers of raw cotton in the world, handling up to 2 million bales annually. In 2005, we broadened our engagement in the sector to cotton production and agriculture, building on our established global trading platform. Today, Plexus is expanding into other crops that provide opportunities for development for customers and farmers alike.
Plexus has evolved into an innovative platform for sustainable agriculture sourcing and global agricultural trade. We have the expertise to facilitate transparent and commercially successful partnerships for companies looking for agriculture products and production.
In 2020, we focused our trading arm on Africa: We believe that the continent has
the capacity to be the most competitive supplier of agriculture in the world.
During the last 25 years Plexus held investments in the agricultural production sector in Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa and Uganda, including integrated value chains from farming to processing and finished product.
While some of these early ventures have been reinvested in our current agricultural projects, community farming and value addition activities, our experience in every process from field to finished goods gives us an unrivalled understanding of the full value chain.
Our vision is to be a conduit for progressive and sustainable, regenerative agriculture and trade. Our mission: technological advancement, innovation, scale, and strong partnerships that bring about tangible positive change and GDP growth.
